Broccoli Seeds - F1 Green Magic
Broccoli Seeds - F1 Green Magic
Cut the smooth, tightly packed rich-green heads and the plants will then produce a good crop of luscious sideshoots! Shows good resistance to White Rust. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner.
Tom says:Â The slightly untidy cousin of calabrese, broccoli provides you with the first harvests of the year in January-April. The sweet, earthy flavour complements all kinds of dishes from Asian inspired stir-fries to Sunday roasts.
Growing Information
Sow April-May outdoors. This variety produces a large central head that should be cut and eaten; further smaller shoots follow. (12-16 weeks maturity.) Crops June to August.
Sowing Information
Sow thinly direct into a finely raked, warm, moist seedbed at a depth of 1.3cm (½"). Transplant subsequent plants with a trowel or dibber when large enough to handle, allowing 30cm (12") between plants. Water well during spells of dry weather. Alternatively sow under cover in trays or cell packs and either grow in large pots or grow bags or plant outdoors. To retain maximum vitamin content, cook by steaming. Sowing - Cropping: 16-18 weeks.
