Sowing Information

Sow in boxes or trays in a cold frame or cold greenhouse using a good quality compost. Cover the seeds with 3mm (1?4") sieved compost. Germination 12-18 days. Transplant seedlings singly into 50mm (2") pots or into trays, grow on and finally plant on the flat (not in trenches), 25cm (10") between plants if possible, in block formation to assist blanching.
Regular watering in dry weather is essential for good healthy stems.
