Surface Preparation:

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from wax, grease, and contaminants.

• Smooth and sound surfaces are ideal for application.

• Fill large cracks, open joints, and damaged areas with a high-quality flexible filler.

• Wash oily woods, knots, or resinous areas with white spirit.

• Remove mould, lichens, algae, and moss by scrubbing with a brush, scraper, and domestic bleach, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.

• Optionally, apply Rustin’s Wood Dye before varnishing to enhance the wood’s appearance.

Instructions for Use:

• Apply with a Synthetic Brush: Use a full brush to apply the varnish liberally, finishing with the grain.

• External Use: On hot days, dilute the first coat with up to 15% water to aid application.

• Avoid Hot Surfaces & Direct Sunlight: Apply in the shade, avoiding surfaces that are too hot or in direct sunlight.

• Apply 3 Coats: Lightly sand after the first coat if the grain raises. Successive coats will darken the finish, but a clear varnish topcoat can maintain a satisfactory shade.

• Drying Time: The varnish dries quickly, making it convenient for multiple coats in a short period.
