Surface Preparation:

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, wax, or dust.

• Fill cracks and damaged areas with a high-quality flexible filler.

• Wash oily woods, knots, or resinous areas with white spirit.

• Remove mould, algae, and moss using domestic bleach, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.

• Apply Rustins Wood Dye to bare wood if additional colour is needed before varnishing.

Application Instructions:

• Stir Well Before Use – Do not shake the tin.

• Apply with a synthetic brush, following the wood grain.

• On hot days, dilute the first coat with up to 15% water for better application.

• Apply 3 coats, lightly sanding after the first coat if the grain raises.

• Allow 2 hours drying time between coats.

• Avoid application on hot surfaces, in direct sunlight, or if rain is expected.

• Each additional coat deepens the colour, but a clear varnish topcoat can be used to maintain a satisfactory shade while achieving the desired thickness.
