Don’t worry: Anyone with a sunny windowsill, patio, or balcony can cultivate home-grown vegetables. In fact, choosing plants that are nutritious, delicious, and attractive is the ultimate way to maximise limited space. Suttons have tried and tested these varieties suitable for small spaces and know they’ll succeed, but that’s not to say there aren’t other vegetable seeds that you could try!

Growing info:

• For raised beds try sowing in 30cm squares, spacing four seeds every 7.5cm (3") 15mm (½") deep.
• Germination 10 – 28 days.
• As the seedlings emerge, remove spare seedlings to leave one per station (then you will have 9 plants per square).
• For container growing – sow thinly, direct into the compost.
• Alternatively sow in rows 30cm (12") apart.
• Sowing to cropping: 8-10 weeks.
